Citrus Sunburst Look (Sleek i-Divine Sunset Palette, NYX Black Label Lipstick)

So I decided to treat myself to a few bits off and they arrived today. There’s a clearance sale on at the minute and I got the lipstick and polishes for dirt cheap, staying true to my bargain hunter nature:

CHINA GLAZE: Pretty crazy colours, but I’m a fan of lots of colour so they are perfect for me. Never used this brand before but I have the yellow, ‘Sun-Kissed’, on at the moment and I’m liking it so far. Turns a more muted pearlescent yellow when dry. The green is called ‘I’m With The Lifegaurd’

SLEEK: I am in love with this palette already. Lovely warm shimmery gold, copper and bronzey sunset tones. I don’t wear blue eyeshadow really, but I’d be interested to attempt an ocean sunset look, which is what I’m guessing the blue is there for.

NYX: I wasn’t too sure if this lipstick was going to suit me, I’m not used to wearing orange tinted lips. I found it on sale on for just 3euros and the reviews online were great so really there was nothing to lose. Its really smooth and moisturising and hallelujuh! – I actually love the colour! It goes really well with the colours in the sunset palette too, which is kind of a happy accident. This is now officially my favorite lipstick.

The Haunting Horde of Halloween Hellions!

LOVE Halloween parties. It’s always fun to see your friends get dressed up and get creative.

This year we had:

  • giant spider webs EVERYWHERE (the room looked like the inside of a spider filled cave by the time we were done!)
  • lots of cool Jack-o-Lanterns
  • scarily alcoholic jelly cocktail (sampled by a few magpies before we got to try it)
  • pumpkin jar full of obligatory Halloween candy
  • garden graveyard complete with hanging skeletons
  • some friendly ghost armchairs
  • the typical gross Halloween games (bowl of spaghetti hair and eyeballs)
  • and a LOT of booze.

SO, I’ll leave you with some pics of us all out in the graveyard, a few of peoples costumes, and a few close ups of my pop-art zombie costume (inspired by Redditor Ssssamanta’s original look).

Vanessa as a Necromancer

Caoimhe as a Voodoo Doll, Me as a blue Zombie, and the Necromancer pulling our strings!

Seamus (left) as a blurry sugar skull (see next pic), and Peter (right) as Harvey Dent aka Two-Face

Sugar Skull Makeup

This half Sugar Skull look is fun, especially if you don’t really feel like committing to a full face skull or if you just want to still feel like yourself when you look in the mirror.

All paints used are from Snazaroo, with a few touches of Smiffys FX UV activated paint which I used to paint half my lip pink and my eyebrow purple.

TIP! : Use hairspray to set your makeup. Spray a little at arms length and walk into the mist. Careful now! 😛

Two Face/Harvey Dent

Patrick Bateman, Hannibal Lecter, Tony Montana, Harvey Dent.

There’s something a bit special about a monster in a suit, don’t you think?

Here’s a Two Face Halloween look that I tried out last night. You gotta suit up for this one! It loooks really great if you paint and spike one side of your hair and slick the other side down too.

Zombie Dolls!

Trying out a little Halloween makeup last night with Vanessa. Turned myself into a pop art zombie doll. Vanessa painted herself as a kind of voodoo zombie doll which turned out awesome I think.

Leave a comment and let me know what you think, or if you have any Halloween style suggestions for me to try out give me a shout and I’ll be sure to give it a go. I like a challenge!

Only 12 days till Halloween y’all, time to start sorting out your costumes!

Andrew/Lady Anchelotti

What up!

Welcome to my facepainting/makeup blog. If this is your first time here, have an aul scroll through and see what you think. Some good ideas for halloween costumes and the like further down the page for anyone who might still be undecided on what to dress up as this year.

Any brave lads out there? Try this one out if you have the balls (so to speak). It’s fun, I swear.

I tried out the half and half gender makeup on myself about a year ago and was amused by the response I got to the photos. Apparently I really looked like a man… this is probably the only possible scenario where I might take that as a compliment (probably).

It’s amazing what you can do with some makeup, a few brushes and a patient model! If I’d had more time I would have liked to do his whole face, maybe next time! 😛

Shout out to Vanessa for all the help and the awesome pink glittery nail painting.

Katy Perry Inspired Look

Now before we begin, I’m not the biggest Katy Perry fan by any stretch of the imagination. But DAMN, her make-up is always off the hook! I saw this look on the front of a magazine the other day and it looked quite easy and fun to do (Also I had a new pink wig I got off ebay that I’ve been dying to try out. Yeah, wigs are my thing now).

Hot Pink Lips, Bright Blue Eyeliner, Power Brows, Fake Lashes and Colourful Hair. DONE!

It took me less time to do this than is normally does to put my everyday makeup on, so I’m confidant that anyone could manage it. I think it adds a nice splash of colour to your face without going completely over the top. I’ve overdrawn my lips with lip-liner to make them look bigger. I would recommend covering your lips with liner before applying your lipstick as it help it too last linger and look brighter.

I did consider doing a scraped back ponytail with it, but screw it, wigs are more fun! 😛
