Citrus Sunburst Look (Sleek i-Divine Sunset Palette, NYX Black Label Lipstick)

So I decided to treat myself to a few bits off http://www.beautyemporium.ie and they arrived today. There’s a clearance sale on at the minute and I got the lipstick and polishes for dirt cheap, staying true to my bargain hunter nature:

CHINA GLAZE: Pretty crazy colours, but I’m a fan of lots of colour so they are perfect for me. Never used this brand before but I have the yellow, ‘Sun-Kissed’, on at the moment and I’m liking it so far. Turns a more muted pearlescent yellow when dry. The green is called ‘I’m With The Lifegaurd’

SLEEK: I am in love with this palette already. Lovely warm shimmery gold, copper and bronzey sunset tones. I don’t wear blue eyeshadow really, but I’d be interested to attempt an ocean sunset look, which is what I’m guessing the blue is there for.

NYX: I wasn’t too sure if this lipstick was going to suit me, I’m not used to wearing orange tinted lips. I found it on sale on http://www.beautyemporium.ie for just 3euros and the reviews online were great so really there was nothing to lose. Its really smooth and moisturising and hallelujuh! – I actually love the colour! It goes really well with the colours in the sunset palette too, which is kind of a happy accident. This is now officially my favorite lipstick.

Katy Perry Inspired Look

Now before we begin, I’m not the biggest Katy Perry fan by any stretch of the imagination. But DAMN, her make-up is always off the hook! I saw this look on the front of a magazine the other day and it looked quite easy and fun to do (Also I had a new pink wig I got off ebay that I’ve been dying to try out. Yeah, wigs are my thing now).

Hot Pink Lips, Bright Blue Eyeliner, Power Brows, Fake Lashes and Colourful Hair. DONE!

It took me less time to do this than is normally does to put my everyday makeup on, so I’m confidant that anyone could manage it. I think it adds a nice splash of colour to your face without going completely over the top. I’ve overdrawn my lips with lip-liner to make them look bigger. I would recommend covering your lips with liner before applying your lipstick as it help it too last linger and look brighter.

I did consider doing a scraped back ponytail with it, but screw it, wigs are more fun! 😛

Monster High Makeup – Operetta

Rockabilly Zombie Doll Makeup! Great Idea for a Halloween costume. The rolled fringe is a bit of a nightmare to get right the first time. A few youtube tutorials later and I managed to get it to stay. The Purple paint came out a little patchy in the pics, next time I’ll do a bit more blending with it. Hope you like!

Intense Pink & Black Lace Eyeliner!

This is one of the first looks I created, maybe around a year ago when I was frustrated with writers block while attempting to write my dissertation! Well, my procrastination didn’t hurt me too much since I ended up with a tidy B+. 😀

Anyway, I went from just messing around, to blogging away and coming up with new crazy makeup art every week and really enjoying it. After creating this particular look I knew I wanted to take makeup a little more seriously (but not by any means, in the boring sense of the word!)

So let me know what you think in the comments. Feedback is something I don’t have much of at the moment so I always appreciate people opinions! A lot of my looks are a little gothic and dark, and (obviously) not very wearable. But costume makeup is what I find interesting and fun so tha’ts what I love to do.

I think I’ll try out something a bit lighter and more wearable next time to see if I get a good response. A St. Patrick’s themed post will most likely be in the mix also, what with me being an Irish Cailin, born and bred!

So please leave a comment or ask questions about products used, anything!

Bug Eyed! (Green and Silver Eyes)

This is a look I did a couple of months back for a night out. The shadows are Urban Decay in Bender, and Gosh Silver loose powder. I think these two colours together look like the shell of a shiny green beetle, i like it! It’s quite dramatic with a red lip, but that’s how I like it – big and bold! (ha)

Feel free to leave a comment or ask questions about any looks/ products used on any of my posts and we can talk makeup! 😛
